Security official Pascal Duvier has broken his silence to clarify that he was not part of the singer Chappell Roan’s personal security team during a controversial encounter in Brazil.

The incident, which occurred on 21 March 2026 at a hotel in São Paulo, involved the eleven-year-old daughter of actor Jude Law, Ada, and her mother, Catherine Harding.

Reports suggested that Duvier aggressively confronted the pair after Ada walked past Roan’s table. However, in a statement released on Wednesday, Duvier took "full responsibility" for the interaction while explicitly distancing himself from the "Pink Pony Club" singer.

The confrontation sparked a public dispute when Ada’s stepfather, the Brazilian footballer Jorginho Frello, accused Roan of allowing her security to berate a child. Roan previously denied these claims, stating she was unaware of the interaction and that the guard did not work for her.

Supporting this, Duvier wrote: "I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan." He explained that his actions were a "judgment call" based on his assessment of the location’s heightened security risks.

While Harding originally cast doubt on Roan’s innocence, Duvier’s statement confirms that his presence was independent of the singer’s management.

"The outcome of the encounter is regretful," Duvier added, describing his intentions as calm. A representative for the twenty-eight-year-old singer reiterated to Page Six that she maintains "zero tolerance" for aggressive behaviour.

Currently concluding her South American tour dates, Roan is expected to return to the United States for several festival appearances scheduled throughout the summer.
