Henry steps in for veteran Susette Hsiung, who retired at the close of 2025
Longtime Netflix production executive Atiya Henry has become part of Disney Branded Television as EVP of Production.
Reporting to Disney Entertainment Television Head of Production Carol Turner, Henry will be an integral member of Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis’ senior leadership team.
Henry steps in for veteran Susette Hsiung, who retired at the close of 2025 following 28 years with The Walt Disney Company, including a period as Disney Channel Head of Production.
Her most recent position was EVP, Studio Production, Network Programming Operations – Disney Branded Television.
In her new capacity, Henry will manage all production aspects for Disney Branded Television’s collection of animated and live-action shows for Disney+, Disney Jr., and Disney Channel, featuring the Descendants series, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Phineas and Ferb.
“Atiya is an exceptionally skilled production executive who can transform ambitious storytelling into reality,” Davis and Turner stated together.
“Her extensive knowledge across various genres and her cooperative leadership style make her an excellent partner to our production and creative teams and collaborators as we progress in developing the industry’s most daring lineup for kids and families.”
Henry enters Disney after dedicating the last seven years as a manager and eventually director of physical production for Netflix’s drama series division, where she managed productions like Firefly Lane, Sweet Magnolias, Ransom Canyon, Raising Dion, and the upcoming Little House on the Prairie reboot.
Before her time at Netflix, Henry worked in production roles at Annapurna Pictures and BET Networks/Viacom.
“Disney has been pivotal in crafting numerous iconic stories for kids and families globally, and it’s a true privilege to join a team that is shaping this field for future generations,” Henry expressed.
“I’m eager to collaborate with Ayo, Carol, and the skilled Disney Branded Television team to bring forth stories that audiences will cherish and remember for years ahead.”
