Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad have come a long way since their infamous clashes on Laguna Beach.

Once rivals caught in a love triangle with co-star Stephen Colletti, the reality TV stars are now on good terms, and Kristin says she’s “thankful” for the reconciliation.

Speaking to People ahead of The Reunion: Laguna Beach, Kristin, 39, reflected on mending their friendship: “I'm really happy about it. I'm thankful that we had the opportunity to even do that. We haven’t had any beefs for the last however many years. We’re adults. We've all moved past it, but I think it’s nice—and therapeutic—to show everybody that we’ve moved past it.”

Kristin added that reconnecting as adults revealed common ground they hadn’t noticed in their teenage years.

“It’s been great getting to know her now as an adult. And I’ve realized we actually have a lot more in common than I think both of us ever thought. So it’s been interesting to see.”

Lauren, 40, echoed Kristin’s sentiments, highlighting how adulthood and parenthood have shifted their perspective.

“It was part of what we wanted to show—that we’ve all grown, we’re all adults, a lot of us are parents. As you get older, you’re not worried about the small stuff.”

The two have continued to enjoy each other’s company even after filming wrapped for the reunion special, which follows the lives of high school students in Southern California from 2004 to 2006. Lauren shared, “We’ve been having so much fun just texting and talking and laughing together.”

The Roku Channel recently released the trailer for The Reunion: Laguna Beach, opening with Kristin and Lauren sitting by a bonfire reflecting on their past. Kristin teased, “We have never had a conversation on camera, just the two of us. Are you ready?”

Lauren’s reaction: a simple, “No.”
