A Florida couple, Sierra Johnson and Kasen Millwood, are grieving the tragic loss of their unborn son, Mason, following a collision with a school bus in Lowndes County, Georgia.

The incident occurred at approximately 2pm on 20 March 2026, when a school bus allegedly failed to yield while entering an intersection, resulting in a collision with the couple's Hyundai SUV.

Miss Johnson, who was over 23 weeks pregnant at the time, recalled the harrowing moments immediately following the impact.

"I felt like I was dying. And I was just lying on the road and asked everybody who was near me to help me," she told reporters.

Miss Johnson was rushed to South Georgia Medical Center suffering from a broken collarbone and a punctured lung. Despite an emergency C-section, the infant's heart rate plummeted, and he did not survive.

The couple, whose son was due on 12 July, have expressed frustration after the Lowndes County School District initially reported that no one was injured in the crash.

Mr Millwood stated that they "want justice, and we want answers for our baby boy and why his life had to come to such an abrupt end."

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialised Collision Reconstruction Team is currently conducting an active investigation, which is expected to take between 60 and 90 days.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist the couple with medical expenses and memorial costs.

The school district clarified that no students were on the bus during the accident, though they have yet to provide further comment on the specific allegations regarding the driver's conduct.
