Ashley Hamilton hospitalised in Los Angeles after overdose

Ashley Hamilton, the actor and former husband of the late Shannen Doherty, has reportedly been hospitalised in Los Angeles following a suspected overdose.

The Iron Man 3 star was allegedly discovered at an Airbnb in the Los Angeles area last Thursday, suffering from an overdose-related medical emergency.

Sources informed TMZ on Wednesday that the 51-year-old was rushed to a local medical facility, where he is currently said to be in a stable condition.

Hamilton has been remarkably candid about his long-standing battles with alcohol and drug addiction. During a 2015 episode of his family’s reality series, Stewarts & Hamiltons, he admitted to having a "hard time" with his sobriety, even as his father, George Hamilton, praised his efforts to overcome his vices.

His struggles with substance abuse were also a defining factor in his high-profile marriage to Shannen Doherty. The pair wed in 1993 after dating for just two weeks, but the union collapsed within a year.

In early 2024, Doherty reflected on the marriage during her podcast, Let’s Be Clear, noting that the "horrible" situation contributed to her infamous dismissal from Beverly Hills, 90210.

She explained that the domestic turmoil made it difficult for her to remain professional and punctual on set. Doherty passed away in July 2024 following a courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer.

Hamilton, who also appeared on Dancing With the Stars, had recently focused on independent film projects and advocacy for recovery before this latest health setback.
