Carrie Underwood gave a delightful Easter surprise to some attendees in Tennessee!
Mere days after her rendition of "How Great Thou Art" on a special faith-focused edition of American Idol, the singer known for "Before He Cheats" provided another heartfelt performance at the Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee.
In an Instagram Reel shared by a fan named Danielle Macaulay on April 5, Underwood, 43, dressed in a denim jacket and a floral dress, performed "How Great Thou Art" once again, but this time, she was accompanied by a choir at her local church.
"Carrie Underwood just brought this to life on American Idol recently, and I remarked to Dan while she was on stage, ‘Wow, imagine being there for THAT!’ Then, unexpectedly, she does so at the Easter program we attended close by. Absolutely incredible. Her voice is phenomenal," commented Macaulay in her post.
Another attendee named Emily posted an Instagram Reel showing Underwood's performance, writing: “When Carrie Underwood sings at your Easter service… It’s the kind of moment that gives you chills and makes you take a deep breath.”
They also mentioned, "Feeling blessed for this day, this message, and moments that are just a bit more unforgettable."
In a second Instagram Reel, Emily also recorded Underwood performing the song "Name Above All Names," originally released in 2024 by Charity Gayle.
"Our Easter gathering with Carrie Underwood was too beautiful not to share another glimpse, Happy Easter. The cross remains, the sacrifice continues. The mission is accomplished, and the truth is known. The grave is vacated, the seal is broken. And you're still exalted and revered. You're still enthroned. All glory, all glory to the name above all names," she wrote in her post.
Recently, Underwood has been known to perform spiritual music at the Rolling Hills Community Church. Additionally, she released her gospel album My Savior in 2021.
According to Taste of Country, last week, Underwood shared with journalists in Nashville the "most challenging aspect" of touring and discussed why it often takes an emotional toll on her.
