Daniel Radcliffe has offered a rare and moving tribute to his longtime partner, Erin Darke, during a candid discussion at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

Speaking with moderator Josh Horowitz, the Harry Potter star credited Darke as a "huge part" of his enduring happiness.

The actor, who has been in a relationship with the American actress for over a decade, reflected on the profound nature of their connection while discussing his recent return to the Broadway stage.

Radcliffe explained that a specific moment in his current theatrical production, where his character speaks about a love interest, resonates deeply with his personal life.

"There is something about being truly known and understood and seen by another human being," he remarked. "That is why love exists."

This sense of being "seen" is something he directly attributes to his life with Darke and their young son.

The actor also reflected on the significant contrast between his current contentment and the struggles of his youth.

Recalling his late teens and early twenties as a period when he felt "sad and scared" about the future, Radcliffe admitted he would never have believed such happiness was possible.

"I would never have believed then that I would be experiencing the happiness that I am now with my partner, with my son and with my life in general," he added.

Having first met on the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2012, the couple continues to maintain a private yet supportive partnership while raising their child in New York.
