American singer Miguel has strongly criticised 'false fans' after attendees left his London concert early, labeling the event as "terrible".

The RnB artist from California, aged 40, performed at the O2 Academy in Brixton during his CAOS tour, but his reception was not entirely positive among some concert-goers.

Though he has been compared to the iconic singer Prince, many felt he did not meet expectations with his performance in the capital, despite playing to a filled venue.

The roughly 90-minute show allowed the prominent singer-songwriter to perform new music and fan favourites like Sure Thing and Adorn.

However, as attendees left the South London location, the overall mood seemed less than enthusiastic.

In a clip shared on Clean Hearted Kid’s Instagram, a voice is heard questioning attendees: “Describe Miguel’s concert in just one word?”

A disgruntled attendee exclaimed: “terrible” and further vented, “very disappointing”.

Another concert-goer remarked: “Well, it wasn't great,” to which the initial dissatisfied fan added: “He’s spoken more than he’s actually performed so far.

“What a waste of my money”.

One attendee decided: “I’m out of here,” while another described it as “incredibly dull”.

However, one person took a more empathetic view, commenting: “Honestly, I feel bad for him because his talent is undeniable”.

Their friend pointed out there appeared to be “technical issues” affecting his performance.

Shortly after his performance, Miguel responded on his Instagram account.

He shared a video of the crowd in Brixton cheering and noted: “When your genuine supporters stick by you through the chaos”.

This comment was a nod to the name of the CAOS tour and the supposed pandemonium of the event that had upset some fans.

He told Clara Amfo in the comments that he: 'Won’t entertain any nonsense.”

One admirer commented: “You never fail to impress, true fans will always stand by you”.

Another praised: “Your management of the 'chaos' was so poised! You have an amazing voice and you put on a great show”.

Previously, Miguel has discussed being compared to the Purple Rain legend, Prince.

In a conversation with The Sun Online about the similarities and whether he finds such comparisons annoying or flattering, he stated: “It’s clear he’s been a huge inspiration, but I also have qualities that are distinctly my own and not derived from him.

“Being likened to Prince is a tremendous honor. There will never be another like him. That’s not who I want to be.

"It’s a mixed feeling, flattered yet wanting to say ‘there's more to me.’"

“Hopefully it encourages you to explore more of my work and realize ‘okay, I see how he stands apart’”.
