'Melrose Place' star Patrick Muldoon's emotional final post reveals future project
Muldoon was the lead vocalist for the band 'Sleeping Masses' before he passed away
Patrick Muldoon expressed great excitement about an upcoming project in what turned out to be his last Instagram post.
The former "Melrose Place" star, who tragically died from a heart attack over the weekend, posted a screenshot and shared a Deadline article on Friday about Chris Hemsworth’s casting in “Kockroach.”
“Thrilled to be involved in this fantastic project KOCKROACH directed by Matt Ross featuring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, Zazzie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin,” Muldoon shared with his fans.
Just two days after that post, the beloved "Days of Our Lives" star was discovered deceased at his home in Beverly Hills, California.
At the time of his passing, Muldoon was 57 years old. According to TMZ, he spent the morning at home with his partner, Miriam Rothbart, before heading for a shower.
Concerned when she couldn't find Muldoon, Rothbart discovered him unconscious on the bathroom floor.
He shared an Instagram clip of himself playing the guitar and singing ahead of the holiday meal.
Muldoon was also the lead vocalist for the band Sleeping Masses before he passed away.
He leaves behind his partner Rothbart, his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., his sister Shana, her husband Ahmet Zappa, and their children.
Muldoon's acting journey began in 1990 with appearances on two episodes of “Who’s the Boss?” and he later secured a recurring role on “Saved By the Bell.”
He gained fame for his portrayal of Austin Reed on “Days of Our Lives” between 1992 and 1995, reprising the role from 2011 to 2012, while playing Richard Hart on “Melrose Place” in the interim.
Before his untimely death, the soap opera icon had completed three projects set for release: “Dirty Hands,” “Stay at Home,” and “Pray for Me: Key to Freedom.”
