Stanley Tucci has responded to his latest on-set nickname with tongue-in-cheek humor.

The actor playfully embraced being dubbed the “biggest diva” during the filming of The Devil Wears Prada 2, after costar Anne Hathaway made the remark on a recent late-night appearance.

Hathaway, speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, joked that Tucci earned the title because of his attention to detail — particularly when it comes to wardrobe.

Asked about the comment at the film’s New York City premiere, Tucci didn’t push back. Instead, he agreed.

“I’m awful,” he said with a laugh. “Just terrible.”

The lighthearted exchange continued as Tucci acknowledged that being labeled a “diva” might not be such a bad thing, especially when framed as confidence — a point he happily accepted.

The sequel reunites Tucci and Hathaway with original cast members Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, bringing the iconic fashion-world story back to the big screen.

The new installment reportedly follows Streep’s Miranda Priestly as she navigates a shifting media landscape while facing off against Blunt’s powerful executive character.

Despite the playful teasing, Tucci also showed support for Hathaway, who marked another major moment the same day by landing PEOPLE’s 2026 World’s Most Beautiful cover.

“It’s not so bad. She’s pretty good looking,” he joked, downplaying the achievement in his signature dry style.

Hathaway, for her part, described returning to the franchise as both “beautiful” and “joyful,” reflecting on the opportunity to revisit a defining chapter of her career with fresh perspective.

The actress also praised her costars, calling Tucci “so funny and quick,” Blunt “a dream,” and expressing deep admiration for Streep’s enduring artistry.
