Justin Timberlake has shared a sentimental throwback video featuring a young Justin Bieber, following the latter's headlining performance during the second weekend of Coachella.

The clip, posted to Instagram on Monday, depicts an attentive Timberlake conversing with Bieber at the very beginning of his career before the pair posed for a photograph together.

The social media tribute was prompted by Bieber, now 32, giving Timberlake a significant shoutout during his Saturday night set at the music festival.

In a second clip shared by Timberlake, 45, Bieber is seen performing the 2002 hit "Cry Me a River" for the Coachella crowd.

Addressing the audience, the Grammy winner remarked, "I grew up listening to Justin Timberlake and so many other beautiful talents but I remember this like it was yesterday."

Bieber also sang along to a throwback cover of the track he had recorded as a teenager before achieving global fame.

Accompanying the footage, Timberlake penned an emotional caption: "I know this has been a long road. And I know it’s not always a smooth ride. I’m proud of you – and you should be proud of you too. Sending love."

Bieber’s Coachella appearance was filled with notable moments, including a serenade for Billie Eilish during "One Less Lonely Girl" and surprise guest performances with SZA, Big Sean, and Sexyy Red.

Following the festival success, speculation regarding a new tour has intensified after Timberlake updated his official website to allow fans to be notified of upcoming date announcements.
