Grace Beverley has revealed she was on the verge of mercury poisoning after eating a common food item, daily canned tuna.

The 28-year-old content creator said she was left shocked after doctors warned she had dangerously high levels of mercury and arsenic in her system, following months of consuming tuna almost every day.

Beverley, who has a large following across social media, explained in a recent TikTok video that she initially sought medical advice after noticing unusual symptoms, including weight gain, inflammation and hormonal imbalances.

After undergoing a series of tests in late 2025, she received an unexpected and alarming call from her doctor.

“You never like that call,” she said, recalling her immediate concern.

The influencer said her doctor asked about her diet, particularly her fish intake. Beverley admitted she was eating “one, maybe two” tins of tuna daily — far exceeding recommended guidelines.

“She said, ‘You do know you’re meant to have two servings a week?’” Beverley recalled, adding that she had no idea her intake was excessive.

Doctors advised her to stop eating fish for several months after warning she was “borderline for mercury poisoning” and had “incredibly high arsenic levels.”

According to the World Health Organization, mercury exposure can be toxic to the human body, potentially affecting the kidneys, nervous system and skin.

It typically occurs through excessive consumption of seafood containing the metal.

Beverley said canned tuna had become a convenient staple in her routine, especially when she was busy or needed a quick source of protein.

Her revelation sparked widespread concern among her followers, many of whom admitted they also consume tuna regularly, with some expressing shock at the recommended limits.

The influencer’s experience has since prompted renewed discussion online about dietary awareness and the potential risks of overconsumption, even when it comes to everyday foods often considered healthy.
