Katie Price attempts to bypass seventh driving ban with international permit
Katie Price announced plans to obtain an international licence despite her current disqualification
- Katie Price is attempting to obtain an international licence despite a UK driving ban.
- Her husband, Lee Andrews, claimed he gifted her a luxury Ferrari worth £180,000.
- Legal regulations state that a revoked UK licence invalidates any international driving permit.
Former glamour model Katie Price is reportedly attempting to circumvent her seventh driving disqualification by applying for an international driving permit.
The 47-year-old media personality, who has received bans totalling more than six years since 2010, shared her plans with social media followers on Friday.
In a video filmed from a moving car in Dubai, Ms Price was joined by her husband, Lee Andrews, who claimed he had purchased a £180,000 Ferrari for her.
During the clip, she stated she was heading to "get my international driving licence," prompting Mr Andrews to remark that the process was "the easy one."
However, legal guidelines and social media followers were quick to challenge the star's assertions. According to the official GOV.UK website, an International Driving Permit is only issued to those holding a valid UK driving licence; as Ms Price’s licence was revoked following a conviction last month, she is legally ineligible for the document.
Her latest six-month ban was issued after she failed to respond to police correspondence regarding a speeding offence in North Yorkshire.
Ms Price claimed she only discovered the disqualification through press reports, attributing the administrative failure to a third party she had employed.
"You cannot drive with an international driving licence with a driving ban," one follower noted, warning that Dubai authorities perform strict background checks.
Despite the legal restrictions, Mr Andrews previously filmed his wife behind the wheel in the UAE, questioning if it was her "first time driving in Dubai."
The couple, who married earlier this year, are reportedly planning to return to the United Kingdom later this month.
For now, the reality star remains disqualified from operating motor vehicles both at home and abroad, facing significant legal hurdles should she attempt to return to the road.
