Sebastian Stan opens up about fatherhood ahead of first baby

Sebastian Stan has opened up for the first time about fatherhood as he prepares to welcome his first child with girlfriend Annabelle Wallis.

The 43-year-old Marvel star recently reflected on the life-changing milestone while discussing his upcoming film Fjord, a project that pushed him to think deeply about manhood, responsibility and parenting.

Speaking candidly with Deadline about entering a new chapter in his personal life, Stan admitted that becoming a father has already shifted his perspective.

“I want to be a good dad,” the actor shared during the interview.

Stan explained that the themes explored in Fjord — which follows a man questioning his worth as both a father and a person — strongly resonated with him as he prepares for parenthood himself.

The actor revealed he has been reflecting more seriously on what it means to become both a good father and a better man.

“I’m feeling the responsibility of being a good father. And not to mention a good man,” Stan said, adding that he still feels he is learning and growing despite entering his 40s.

Pregnancy rumours surrounding Stan and Wallis were first confirmed in April after the couple were photographed together during a stroll in New York City, where the actress debuted her baby bump publicly.

Wallis appeared in a loose black dress paired with a brown jacket and sunglasses, while Stan kept his look casual in brown trousers, a white shirt and denim jacket.

The couple first sparked romance rumours in 2022 after attending Robert Pattinson’s birthday celebration together.

Over the following years, the pair gradually became more public with their relationship, making several red carpet appearances together, including events linked to Stan’s award-season success.

Earlier this year, Stan also gave Wallis a rare public shoutout while accepting his first Golden Globe award for A Different Man, telling the audience, “Annabelle, I love you.”

Despite their increasing public appearances, the actor has consistently maintained a private stance regarding his relationship.

In a previous interview, Stan admitted that preserving some sense of privacy has become increasingly difficult in the spotlight, describing his personal life as the one thing he still tries to keep for himself.
