Zayn Malik is facing renewed criticism from fans following an incident at a recent question-and-answer event in Kingston, London, where an unexpected on-stage moment sparked backlash.

The former One Direction member appeared at a Banquet Records-hosted session on May 21 to preview material from his upcoming fifth studio album Konnakol.

However, the event reportedly took an uneasy turn when an audience member threw water and a bottle toward the stage.

According to attendees cited in reports, Malik arrived approximately two hours later than the scheduled start time, which contributed to frustration among some fans already waiting for the appearance.

Some supporters further claimed the singer did not acknowledge the delay or issue an apology during the event, adding to disappointment among attendees who had gathered for the preview.

The incident comes amid ongoing criticism directed at Malik in recent months, including previous complaints from fans over a last-minute concert cancellation during which ticket refunds were issued through his management team.

Malik has also faced health-related interruptions to his touring schedule, including the cancellation of U.S. tour dates during his The Konnakol Tour following a medical emergency.

The Kingston event was intended as a preview session for new music from his forthcoming project, but has instead drawn attention for the reported audience reaction and concerns over communication with fans.

As of now, Malik and his representatives have not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
