Jimmy Kimmel Live! star Guillermo Rodriguez is officially taking his talents from late-night television to the ballroom after joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars Season 35.

The longtime sidekick and on-air personality from the popular ABC talk show was announced as the latest celebrity contestant for the upcoming season of the dance competition, as per Variety. Rodriguez joins a growing lineup that already includes reality stars Maura Higgins and Ciara Miller, as well as Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson.

The full cast of celebrities and professional dance partners will be revealed on September 2 during ABC’s Good Morning America.

Guillermo Rodriguez becomes latest Season 35 contestant

Rodriguez has spent more than 23 years as a beloved fixture on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, transforming from a parking lot security guard into one of the show's most recognisable personalities.

Known for his humorous celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and memorable Oscars red-carpet appearances, Rodriguez has become a fan favourite thanks to his easygoing charm and comedic timing.

His move to Dancing With the Stars is expected to bring plenty of entertainment value as he takes on a very different challenge in front of a national audience.

More stars join the ballroom competition

Rodriguez is the latest celebrity to sign on for Season 35.

He joins The Traitors and Love Island personality Maura Higgins, Summer House star Ciara Miller and Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson in the growing cast.

Additional contestants and professional dancer pairings will be announced closer to the season premiere.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ returns this September

Dancing With the Stars Season 35 will premiere in September on ABC and Disney+, with episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.

Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will once again serve on the judging panel.

The series, produced by BBC Studios before a live audience, remains one of television’s most enduring reality competitions.

Last season, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson were crowned champions, while Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy finished as runners-up. Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa placed third, followed by Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach in fourth and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten in fifth.

With more celebrity names still to be unveiled, Rodriguez’s ballroom debut is already emerging as one of the most talked-about additions to the new season.
