The Pretty Reckless singer honoured Mason Haynes after he died in a traffic accident
Taylor Momsen is mourning the loss of her longtime bodyguard and close friend Mason Haynes, remembering him as her "protector," "confidant" and a member of her family following his death in a traffic accident.
The Pretty Reckless frontwoman shared an emotional tribute on Instagram after Haynes died at the age of 52, just two days before his 53rd birthday.
Momsen admitted she has struggled to process the devastating loss, describing the bond they shared after spending years working closely together.
"I've struggled for days and still am not sure how to process this," she wrote, calling Haynes her family, protector and one of her closest friends.
Momsen reflected on the unique relationship they built over the years, saying Haynes knew her deepest secrets without judgment and was someone she could always rely on.
She also praised his character, describing him as a powerful presence with an exceptionally kind heart.
According to the singer, Haynes always put others first and was deeply committed to speaking out against bullying.
"I will miss him in a way I can't explain," she wrote, while extending her love and condolences to his wife, Fay, and their children, Brooke and Noah.
The 32-year-old musician also encouraged fans to support Haynes' family by donating to a GoFundMe campaign established to help cover immediate expenses and give his loved ones time to grieve.
She said the fundraiser would also help ensure he receives "the send-off he truly deserves."
The fundraising page, created by family friend Annabel Bass, describes Haynes as an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother and friend whose kindness, generosity and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on those around him.
Momsen ended her tribute by urging people to cherish their loved ones, writing that life can change without warning and reminding fans not to take any moment for granted.
