Suri Noelle prepares for first major acting role at Carnegie Mellon
The 20-year-old is studying musical theatre and will take the stage in her latest performance project
Suri Cruise is following in her famous parents' footsteps as she prepares to take on her first major acting role in a Shakespeare-inspired production.
The 20-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes will star in Midsummer!, a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare’s beloved play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, at Carnegie Mellon University.
The production will run at the Trust Arts Education Center’s Peirce Studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from July 31 to August 1, before heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland from August 7 to August 21.
It is not yet known whether Suri will join the cast for the Scotland performances.
According to Page Six, Suri is currently studying musical theatre at Carnegie Mellon after graduating from New York City's LaGuardia High School in 2024.
This is not Suri’s first time performing on stage. Earlier this year, she appeared as Angel in a staged reading of Cosmic Microwave Background.
She has also showcased her singing talents in projects with her mother, appearing on the soundtracks for Katie Holmes’ films Alone Together and Rare Objects.
Holmes previously opened up about working with her daughter, saying it was meaningful to have Suri involved in her creative projects.
"I hope she always does something on my films. I always ask her," Holmes told Glamour, explaining that the experiences reflected the collaborative and family-like atmosphere she values in the entertainment industry.
Suri was born in 2006, the same year Holmes married Cruise. The couple separated in 2012, with their divorce finalised later that year.
Holmes was reportedly granted primary custody of Suri following the split.
After turning 18, Suri began using her mother’s middle name and is now known as Suri Noelle.
