Dwayne Johnson shares emotional moments from 'Moana' tour in Japan

Dwayne Johnson has expressed his gratitude after receiving what he described as an emotional welcome from fans during his visit to Japan to promote Disney’s live-action Moana.

The actor, who reprises his role as Maui in the upcoming remake, shared a series of photos on Instagram reflecting on the experience and thanking Japanese fans for their overwhelming support.

“Dear Japan — I was deeply moved by your beautiful and emotional embrace of me,” Johnson wrote. “I’ll take every word you said and all the tears of joy you cried, as this was a very profound experience that I’ll never forget.”

Calling himself a “grateful man,” the Jumanji star added that the trip had touched him deeply, writing, “My soul was touched. Until we meet again.”

Johnson also posted a video capturing an emotional encounter with a fan named Kaho, who broke down in tears as she met the actor and told him, “You are my hero.”

The Hollywood star embraced the fan, took a selfie with her and later joked about longtime friend and frequent co-star Kevin Hart.

“Funny how @kevinhart4real says the exact same thing to me every time he sees me, about me being his hero. Cries the exact same way too,” Johnson quipped in the caption.

He ended the message by thanking Kaho for her kindness, while the fan later responded in the comments, calling the meeting “the greatest gift” of her life.

During the Moana premiere in Tokyo, Johnson also shared a lighthearted moment about navigating the event’s blue-carpet staircase.

The actor joked that he had been worried about walking down the “steepest stairway to heaven” with his size 15 feet after enjoying some of his Teremana tequila, adding that his strategy was to “walk down slowly… and sideways… smile, wave, stay cool.”
