Chris Pratt confirms destruction of Jurassic World set in Hawaii

Chris Pratt reveals emotional text from ranch owner regarding damage to Jurassic World set

Chris Pratt has shared the sombre news that a legendary filming location from the Jurassic World franchise was destroyed during the severe storms that struck Hawaii in March 2026.

The 46-year-old actor, who portrayed Velociraptor trainer Owen Grady in the trilogy, revealed the update during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

While being shown a photograph of himself on a motorcycle at the Kualoa Ranch on Oʻahu, Pratt disclosed that he had just received a distressing message from the property's owner.

"I just got a text from my friend who lives on this ranch, Jason Morgan, and a storm came in yesterday and this tree fell down on top of this [Owen’s bungalow]," Pratt explained, confirming the set was completely lost.

The Kualoa Ranch has served as a cornerstone for the franchise, hosting sets for the 2015 original and its sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Jason Morgan, the sixth-generation owner of the ranch, personally informed the actor of the destruction caused by the relentless weather. Pratt’s revelation follows a harrowing account from fellow actor Jason Momoa, who also faced the brunt of the Oʻahu floods.

Taking to social media in late March, the Aquaman star described fleeing his North Shore home after losing power. "We're safe for now, but there are a lot of people who weren't, so we’re sending all our love," Momoa shared.

As the Hawaiian community begins the recovery process, the loss of these cinematic landmarks serves as a stark reminder of the storm's intensity.

Pratt’s connection to the franchise remains strong following the July 2025 release of Jurassic World: Rebirth. Although the physical bungalow on Oʻahu may be gone, the actor continues to champion the series' legacy as he balances his high-profile Hollywood career with his own agricultural interests in the United States.
