'Game of Thrones' film reportedly titled 'Aegon’s Conquest'
A follow-up season of the Game prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been greenlit
Game of Thrones enthusiasts eager for news about the series' leap to the silver screen have a fresh tidbit to consider: The movie's temporary title is Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest.
This title appeared on a slide during Warner Bros.’ CinemaCon session in Las Vegas yesterday evening. The tentative title featured in the studio’s “2027 and beyond” schedule.
Details of the plot are scarce—virtually non-existent, in fact—but the film is expected to center on Aegon I Targaryen, who is also known as Aegon The Conquerer, the initial ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
This dragon-riding figure constructed the Iron Throne, originating from George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
Beau Willimon, known for showrunning House of Cards and for his work on Disney+’s Andor, is penning Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest.
Upcoming for the series is Season 3 of HBO’s Game prequel series House of the Dragon, making a return this summer.
