Robert Pattinson has spoken candidly about his recent relocation to Beverly Hills, where he now lives with his partner Suki Waterhouse and their two-year-old daughter.
The British actor sat down with GQ to discuss his forthcoming epic fantasy action film, The Odyssey, written and directed by Christopher Nolan, but the conversation soon ventured into his personal life.
From Los Feliz to Beverly Hills
Pattinson, 40, revealed that he has left his "giant home" in the Los Feliz neighbourhood of Los Angeles behind and now resides in a rented house in Beverly Hills, California, with Waterhouse and their daughter. The move appears to have prompted a degree of self-reflection about his identity.
"I always thought I was an Eastside hipster guy. I would only ever come to Beverly Hills for my agency and stuff. Now I'm like, everything's kind of nice. Maybe I've turned bougie," he told the outlet.
Batman training and online criticism
Pattinson also used the interview to address longstanding criticism of his physique during the 2022 film The Batman, revealing that his new home's gym is already proving useful as he prepares for The Batman: Part II.
The actor pushed back firmly against suggestions that he had neglected his fitness ahead of the original film.
"[People said,] 'You didn't work out at all.' I worked out every f***** day. Even after that, I still look like I didn't work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o'clock in the morning," the Twilight-famed actor stated.
He also acknowledged that his own desire to project a certain image in the press had inadvertently contributed to the narrative. Pattinson admitted that his wish to "sound cool" meant he held back from publicising just how hard he had trained, which ultimately worked against him.
The Batman: Part II cast and release
Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman: Part II is scheduled for release on 1 October 2027. The film boasts an ensemble cast alongside Pattinson, including Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Dano, Zoë Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, and others.
The Odyssey: plot and release
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, on his long and perilous journey home following the Trojan War, chronicling his encounters with mythical beings such as the Cyclops Polyphemus, sirens, and the nymph Calypso, while attempting to reunite with his wife, Penelope.
The film features a star-studded cast that includes Elliot Page, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon, and Pattinson. The Odyssey is set for a worldwide theatrical release on 17 July 2026.
