The Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor died at 56 on July 26, 2023
Sinéad O’Connor, who died at the age of 56 on July 26, 2023 had already left a golden piece of advice for her children regarding the singer's albums and finances in case she dies.
In a 2021's interview with PEOPLE, the Nothing Compares 2 U hit maker explained how she had instructed her kids on keeping a track of her wealth and music whenever she dies.
"When the artists are dead, they're much more valuable than when they're alive," O'Connor said, referring to the legendary rapper 2Pac Shakur, who had "released way more albums" after his death in 1996 compared to when he was alive.
She further continued, "it's kind of gross what record companies do."
The Drink Before the War crooner further added, "that's why I've always instructed my children since they were very small, 'If your mother drops dead tomorrow, before you called 911, call my accountant and make sure the record companies don't start releasing my records and not telling you where the money is.'"
For the unversed, the tragic news of O’Connor’s death was confirmed by her family in a statement obtained by BBC from the late singer's family on Wednesday 26 July.
According to the reports, the musician breathed her at 56, as she was “unresponsive” in “a residential address” in the Lambeth area of London.
As per the new developments, O’Connor relocated to the capital city to feel less lonely.
As reported by The Independent, the Troy singer's neighbor, Pushpakumara Moragamana has revealed that O’Connor used to smoke outside the building and discuss religion, mental health and other things.
She also used to talk about the tragic death of her son Shane, who died of suicide at the age of 17, last year.
Moragamana also confessed that O’Connor’s neighbours were seemingly unaware of her fame, adding that he used to speak with the late singer on a regular.
While remembering an emotional conversation with the musician, Moragamana revealed that she felt “devastated and depressed” over the loss of her son.
