Michael Cera recently gave an explanation for why he felt "depressed" after the 2010 filming of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was finished.

In an interview with GQ which was released on YouTube, the Barbie star asserted that the Edgar Wright-directed film took about nine months to shoot he had a nice time on set with his fellow cast members despite the lengthy production.

The Superbad actor reminisced, “We just had the greatest vibe with everybody,” adding, “I think that trickled down from Edgar and the energy that he was creating. We all got to rehearse together and spend a lot of time together before we even started making the movie.”

After almost nine months of filming, the 34-year-old stated he thought of the group as his "safe space." Cera added, “This is my world, this is my group of friends.”

The Juno star commented, “I thought it was always gonna be this way, and honestly I was a little depressed when we were done because it all just goes away, and you are kind of like, ‘Where did everybody go?”

He further said, “You kind of get used to it as you get older, but I was sad to lose it, I could have kept making that forever, even though it was exhausting.”

On August 16, a fresh trailer for the animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off was dropped. The cast of the 2010 cult comedy film, which included Cera, provided the original voices of their respective anime characters.

Notably, the series’ eight episodes will stream on Netflix on November 17.
