Pakistan and Turkey collaborated highly anticipated historical series, Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi, is set to make its debut.

The series, which is scheduled to premiere on TRT on November 13, 2023, is dedicated to chronicling the remarkable life of Selahaddin Eyyubi, the revered Muslim ruler and the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty.

The project is the result of a partnership between prominent figures from Pakistan and Turkey, including veteran Pakistani actors Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui, Dr. Kashif Ansari, Ahmet Faruk Bakacak, and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah.

These dedicated individuals, along with production companies Ansari-Shah Films and Akli Films, have been working tirelessly to bring this epic production to life.

Humayun Saeed took to Instagram and shared first teaser of the series Selahaddin Eyyubi.

He wrote, "First teaser of Selahaddin Eyyubi -- an epic saga of a true warrior king! Be prepared to be taken to an era where unmatched valour & unrelenting honour take center stage."

The lead role of Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi will be portrayed by Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, celebrated for his performance as Tugtekin Bey in TRT's other renowned historical series, Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

To create an authentic portrayal of the historical period, Selahaddin Eyyubi is being filmed on a colossal set, covering a vast 200-acre area.

The genesis of this ambitious project took place in October 2021 when the producers from both countries met with former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

During the meeting, Khan emphasized the importance of introducing the younger generation to Muslim history.

He expressed his hope that cross-media collaborations like Selahaddin Eyyubi could serve as valuable tools for this purpose.

He emphasized the need for historical narratives to take center stage in dramas and films, moving away from routine topics.
