Mariah Carey reveals her Christmas tree décor themes

Mariah Carey has revealed that she decorates not one but two Christmas trees every year, also opening up about her love for fans of her hit holiday tune All I Want For Christmas is You.

According to PEOPLE, in a digital cover interview she reminded her fans, like every year that she doesn’t “care about the presents underneath the Christmas tree” when they listen to her holiday melody.

However, she does care about the actual trees as she revealed that there are two specific Christmas trees at her home fueling the holiday spirit this year.

“One is the more grand, you know, kind of gold and cream and sparkly angels and butterflies tree that I have every year that makes me really happy,” the five time Grammy winning artist said.

Reflecting on a more family-oriented tree she said, “The other one is kind of like a Charlie Brown tree, where we do Polaroids of ourselves and put them on the tree.”

“It's fun because it's a sad little tree, but we decorate it, and it's cute, and it's got the colorful lights.”

“Some of my fans have made ornaments for me, so we try to save those and put them up on the tree as well. Peanuts forever!” Carey further added referring to her song .

All I Want for Christmas Is You was sung by Mariah Carey from her first holiday album, Merry Christmas that launched in 1994.

The song has withstood the test of time since its release remaining a holiday favorite to all.

In 2019, the song scored the No. 1 spot for the first time and became Carey’s 19th No. 1 song in her career.

The Library of Congress inducted All I Want for Christmas Is You into the National Recording Registry in April 2023.

Carey expressed her gratitude in a tweet that read, “I’m honored beyond belief! I definitely did not even imagine this would happen when writing and recording this song!”
