Tina Fey unveils reason for reprising 'Mean Girls' roles with Tim Meadows

Tina Fey disclosed the reason why she and Tim Meadows agreed to bring back their respective role as Ms. Norbury and Principle Duvall in new Mean Girls musical adaptation, released on January 12, 2024.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine, Fey revealed that she and Meadows decided to be part of the Mean Girls musical as long as they "don't have to sing."
The Sisters actress also talked about her experience on working with Meadows
Fey said, "I am reprising my role as Ms. Norbury because we thought, well, teachers work for a long time. So it might make sense if Tim and I did it."
Fey went on to say, "So I called Tim and I was like, 'Will you do it? I'll do it if you do it.' And we said yes, as long as we don't have to sing."
The 53-year-old actress also mentioned that Meadows, who reprised his role for Mean Girls 2 in 2011, in which she wasn't involved, "was fun. It's been nice to see Tim."

She continued, "One of us has aged — the other one of us is Tim Meadows! But it's been really nice to get to work with Tim again."
Discussing the updated stars in the new Mean Girls adaptation, the 30 Rock star said, "Bringing together a cast of actors is one of my favorite parts of the process, whether it's in film, television, or stage."
Fey added, "I love getting a chance to be a part of it, and I'm so thrilled about this cast that has come together for the new Mean Girls."
Referring to the cast which includes, Jon Hamm, Jenna Fischer, Jaquel Spivey, Auli'i Cravalho and Busy Philipps, Fey also said, "They're all so incredibly charismatic."
About new 'Mean Girls' adaptation:
The musical film Mean Girls is inspired by the Broadway musical, which in turn is adapted from the 2004 film based on Rosalind Wiseman's book Queen Bees and Wannabes.
The film's star-studded cast includes, Meaghan Martin, Maiara Walsh, Jennifer Stone, Nicole Gale Anderson, Claire Holt, Diego Boneta, Linden Ashby and Tim Meadows
It was released in theaters on January 12, 2024.
