Anne Whitfield famous for her role in the enduring 1954 festive favourite White Christmas, has passed away at 85, as confirmed by her family.

The Gunfighter star left the world mourning on February 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at Valley Memorial Hospital, she passed away after an "unexpected accident" occurred during a walk in her neighbourhood,

“Through the kindness of neighbours who provided expert medical support, family had the gift to say goodbye and express love and gratitude, a gift we will always cherish,” her family wrote.

Whitfield was born on August 27, 1938, in Oxford, Miss., and started her career as a child star at the age of 4 she shifted to Hollywood.

She played the character of Susan Waverly in White Christmas at the age of 17.

Whitfield portrayed the character of the granddaughter of Major General Thomas Waverly (Dean Jagger).

“Just this past December during the holidays, Annie was able to watch White Christmas with her family on the movie’s 70th anniversary,” Whitfield’s obituary reads.

Whitfield dedicated the majority of her professional life to television, appearing in numerous episodes of Peter Gunn, Manhunt, The Untouchables, Rawhide, The Donna Reed Show, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, The Six Million Dollar Man and Emergency!
