Val Kilmer's family broke silence following the actor’s tragic death on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
As reported by RadarOnline.com, Kilmer’s family in a heartfelt message wrote, “Thank you for honoring our extraordinary father's memory.”
The statement reads, “We are so proud of him and honored to see his legacy celebrated.”
The statement concluded by asking for some time alone, “At this time, we would like to grieve privately.”
Kilmer died at the age of 65 in Los Angeles from pneumonia, his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, revealed to The New York Times and The Associated Press.
In 2014, the Top Gun: Maverick actor had been diagnosed with throat cancer, which he had recovered from after treatment, however, a tracheotomy left him without his voice.
It is to be noted here that Val Kilmer was one of the most successful movie stars of the 1990s, and appeared in a number of big-budget blockbusters, including Top Gun, Batman Forever and The Doors.
The late legendary actor is survived by their two children, Mercedes and Jack.
