Nick, Joe Jonas recall media scrutiny in their teens: 'We felt the pressure'
Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas slam media for being invasive

Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas recently opened up about the constant pressure they faced from the media during their teenage years of stardom.
In an appearance on Penn Badgley’s Podcrushed podcast, aired on Thursday, July 24, the Jonas Brothers addressed the inappropriate questions they were asked in the early days of their career.
Joe, now, 35, revealed that some reporters were so insensitive that they would even threaten to portray them as being "in a cult" if they refused to answer personal questions about topics like religion or sex.
"These were questions we were getting in every interview," he said, adding that this wasn’t limited to just them but a "whole class of young people coming up" in the industry.
Badgley, 38, expressed his disgust at such practices and found it appalling to "ask a 10-year-old about their sex life."
Nick, 32, noted that how much the culture has changed since then, stating, "I think it's really a good thing, where it would be like so outside of the realm of possibilities or something someone would do to ask at that time a 14-year-old about their sex life."
Joe added with frustration that these types of questions came up in almost "every interview."
The Only Love crooner also disclosed that the media had kept a close eye on every move the brothers would make, including their decision to wear purity rings.
For the unversed, a purity ring symbolises a commitment to abstain from sex, common within Christian beliefs.
Joe went on to unveil the harsh reality of dealing with the press, noting that the invasive questions didn’t stop at sex, they extended to religion as well.
He even claimed that at times there were even questions like "What is God?" and "Is there a God?"
"Obviously, it would be scary and freak us out until we got to a point where it's like, f*** this. Like, and probably the time we're like, 'frick this.' Because we were like, 'We can figure out who we are on our own terms,'" Joe continued.
On the professional front, Jonas Brothers are scheduled to release their forthcoming album, Greeting from Your Hometown on August 8, 2025.
