Princess Charlotte joins Prince William for major royal engagement
During Prince William and Princess Charlotte’s trip to Switzerland, the young royal took part in a royal engagement, while mother Kate Middleton and her siblings Prince George and Prince Louis stayed back in England.
The 10-year-old Princess had the opportunity to meet members of the Spanish royal family, sharing a moment with Princess Leonor and her younger sister Infanta Sofia.
In the royal moment captured in Switzerland, Princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne, stood alongside the British Royals and posed for some photos.
The father daughter duo had traveled to Basel to seemingly support England in the Women's Euros final.
The match went into extra time with a 1-1 score, But the Lionesses took the win with an exciting penalty shootout.
Fulfilling his role as the Patron of the Football Association, the 43-year-old Prince of Wales stepped on the pitch to hand out medals to players from both England and Spain.
After the loss, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia were seen offering comfort to the Spanish players.
After the match, William and Charlotte shared a joint statement on social media, saying, "What a game! Lionesses, you are the champions of Europe and we couldn’t be prouder of the whole team. Enjoy this moment England," signing off with "W & Charlotte."
