King Charles III welcomed the US president during his two-day visit to UK

United States President Donald Trump, who recently kicked off his state visit to the U.K. on Wednesday, finally met King Charles.
Trump along with the first lady Melania Trump arrived at Windsor Castle on the first full day of his two-day state visit to UK.

Here are the key points from during the meetup between the US president and the monarch, who spoke ahead of banquet at Windsor Castle for a similar length of time:
- Trump’s visit began with privately meeting Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, in the private Walled Garden on the vast Windsor estate.
- He along with his wife was greeted by Charles and Queen Camilla with the flag used for official celebration days, flowing from the Royal Tower.
- The US president made time for a quiet tribute at Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb at St. George’s Chapel on the castle grounds, in a private moment away from cameras.
- Trump during his speech, called the hours of pageantry with King Charles III “one of the highest honors” of his life.

- While joking about how he hope it will be the last time someone is invited twice, Trump during the evening banquet, said, “This was the second state visit, and that’s the first, and maybe that’s going to be the last time, I hope it is actually.”
- Trump also spoke to the around 160 gathered guests, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, press baron Rupert Murdoch and OpenAI chief Sam Altman.
- During his speech, the US president addressed the relationship between the US and UK, saying "special does not begin to do it justice".
- For the royal meal, Trump will be seated at a 155-foot table, which is decorated with 139 candles and set with 1,452 pieces of cutlery for 160 guests at St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle.

- The president will be seated next to King Charles and the Princess of Wales, while Melania Trump will be seated next to Queen Camilla and Prince William.
- Banquet guests are being served a lavish dinner, starting with Hampshire watercress pana cotta with parmesan shortbread and quail egg salad.
