Stars who couldn't stand their famous onscreen looks
Find out which actors hated the way they looked on screen

While many actors love their iconic onscreen appearances, plenty of others weren’t so thrilled about theirs.
Check out who they are:
Jennifer Aniston
The Friends star, who gained breakout fame as Rachel Green, wasn't impressed with her character’s iconic haircut.
In 2011, she told Allure, “I love Chris [McMillan, my hairstylist], and he's the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look.”
Jennifer added, “How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen."
Simone Ashley
Simone experienced major discomfort from the corsets she wore while filming Bridgerton, to the extent where she even struggled to eat.
In 2022, she told Glamour UK, “I realized when you wear the corset, you just don't eat. It changes your body.”
The British actress added, “I had a lot of pain with the corset, too. I think I tore my shoulder at one point!"
Jim Carrey
Jim’s extensive makeup in How the Grinch Stole Christmas made filming incredibly unpleasant for him.
“When I did [How the Grinch Stole Christmas]...literally the makeup was like being buried alive every day,” he said on The Graham Norton Show in 2014.
The actor revealed that in order to endure the grueling eight-hour makeup and costume sessions, he used CIA-trained torture coping techniques, like punching his legs or using extreme distraction.
Miley Cyrus
Playing Hannah Montana took a serious toll on Miley’s self-image.
In 2015, she admitted that she was made to look like someone she wasn't, which likely contributed to body dysmorphia.
“I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, 'Who the f*** am I?'" the Flowers songstress shared.
Tom Felton
While portraying Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, Tom suffered through painful hair-bleaching sessions.
It left him feeling “like fire ants were nibbling” at his scalp.
"Then, they said they’d have to do it all again and I begged them not to,” he wrote in his 2022 memoir, Beyond the Wand.
