Tom Holland, a British actor best known for playing Spider‑Man in the Marvel movies has been hospitalised after a stunt went wrong on set.

The 29-year-old first become famous for his role in Spider-Man: Homecoming and has since starred in several Marvel films, earing praise for doing many of his own stunts.

Lets take a look at what happened with the superstar Tom Holland:

Stunt goes wrong on set

During filming for a new Spider-Man movie Tom was performing a dangerous stunt that involved jumping and landing on a platform.

However, something went wrong during the scene. The platform was unstable and The Impossible actor lost his balance, falling hard and injuring himself.

Immediate medical help

Crew members rushed to help him as he was in visible pain and could not move his arm properly and an ambulance was quickly called and Tom was taken to the hospital.

Injuries confirmed by doctors

Doctors later confirmed that the British actor had fractured his wrist and bruised a few ribs while the injuries are serious and he is expected to make a full recovery after surgery and several weeks of rest and physical therapy.

Support from fans and friends

Fans around the world were shocked and sent messages of support as his friends, co-stars and family also shared their love and well wishes. Tom’s team said he was staying positive and grateful for the support.

Filming on hold

Moreover, filming has now been paused as the director said the production team is reviewing all safety measures to prevent future accidents.

Tom Holland is now resting at home as he thanked everyone for their kind messages and said he’s determined to recover and return to work soon and even though the accident was frightening fans believe the actor will come back stronger just like Spider-Man always does.
