Danny Boyle brings back zombies after 28 Years with new sequel
Danny Boyle and Alex Garland reunite to revive the zombie thriller

Danny Boyle, the Oscar-winning director known for films like Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, is returning to the zombie genre after more than two decades.
The 68-year-old first shocked audiences with 28 Days Later in 2002, a gritty and emotional story about a virus outbreak in UK that turned people into raging, infected monsters.
Now, Danny is back with a brand-new sequel titled 28 Years Later, reuniting with writer Alex Garland for the first time in years.
A story set of 28 Years Later
The new film is set far in the future, 28 years after the original outbreak as the story follows a father and his young son living on a remote island off the coast of England.
Their life seems quiet and safe but danger still lurks as the infected are never too far away as the world around them slowly reconnects, they have forced to face the terrifying possibility that the nightmare is not over.
A talented cast brings the story to life
Aron Taylor-Johnson stars as Jamie, the father trying to protect his son, Spike, played by young actor Alphie Williams.
Jodie Comer joins the cast as Isla, Jamie’s wife and Spike’s mother more emotional depth to the family’s story.
Ralph Fiennes plays Dr. Kelson, a once respected doctor now trying to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.
Filmed across the England countryside
The movie was filmed in various parts of England, including the historic Holy Island (Lindisfarne) as well as locations in North Yorkshire, Somerset, County Durham and Tyne and Wear as these real places give the film a grounded, weird feeling that fits perfectly with the story’s tone.
A new chapter for a classic zombie world
28 Years Later marks the return of one of the most unique zombie worlds in cinema. With Danny Boyle back in the director’s chair and a fresh new cast, fans of the original films have something thrilling to look forward to.
It is important to mention that if you missed the theatrical release, can now watch the film from the comfort of your home on Netflix.
