Prince Harry has issued a rare statement, denouncing “categorically false” claims about his last meeting with King Charles.

Following The Sun’s report, which claimed that the appointment left the Duke of Sussex feeling like an “official visitor”, his spokesperson promptly denied the publishing.

The entirety of the statement provided by Harry’s rep asserted, “The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son. Presumably, those same sources have also chosen to disclose that gifts were exchanged. While we would have preferred such details to remain private, for the sake of clarity, we can confirm that a framed photograph was handed over, however, the image did not contain the Duke and Duchess.”

The King’s Dilemma

It is likely that the latest statement, though necessary, may have thrown King Charles further into a dilemma between keeping his two sons at bay where the family dynamic is concerned.

While it was the British press which peddled what Harry has claimed as false reports against him, it has not gone without notice that his representative chose to address anonymous sources and not the publication responsible for quoting them even though the Duke had previously been involved in direct legal conflict with The Sun.

Moreover, shortly before the media’s reporting of the claims linked to Prince Harry, it was revealed that Prince William had a meeting of his own with his father — albeit, far more drawn out than his younger brother’s less than an hour at Clarence House.
