Angela Kelly, who was the dresser for Queen Elizabeth II for over twenty-five years, has shared insights into the late ruler's personal moments in a fresh Vanity Fair conversation.

The 68-year-old, hailing from Liverpool, disclosed that the Queen couldn't resist a little dance whenever ABBA's famous song "Dancing Queen" played on BBC Radio 2 during their morning rituals.

"When the tune played, she adored it, and we both would dance," Ms Kelly reminisced. "The queen would rock gently and sing. Her Majesty loved singing and had a pleasant voice."

Ms Kelly confessed she would get "caught up" dancing around the Queen "like I was at a club," causing Elizabeth to ask her to "step aside" due to her not-so-great singing.

The former royal aide referred to these as "cherished moments," mentioning that the Queen was "a truly cool grandmother."

Beyond royal responsibilities, Ms Kelly depicted Elizabeth's unexpectedly involved role during family get-togethers at Balmoral Castle.

The Queen would roll up her sleeves to help with cleaning up after barbecues, even when the Prime Minister was a guest, according to her former dresser.

"If the Duke, or anyone cooking, burnt the burgers, she'd just chuckle," Ms Kelly observed. "The queen was simply full of life and indeed a cool granny."

The interview further revealed the late Queen's holiday preferences, as Ms Kelly mentioned that Elizabeth preferred "fluffy chicks and chocolate eggs" for Easter decorations.

These personal details highlight a monarch who enjoyed regular family joys alongside her official roles.

Ms Kelly's path through the Palace began in 1994 as an assistant dresser, later advancing to the Queen's personal assistant and head dresser by 2002.

The duo forged a strong connection through mutual interests, with Ms Kelly once remarking: "We are just like any women. We chat about clothes, makeup, jewelry."

Their connection extended beyond work tasks, with Ms Kelly describing the "wonderful playful exchanges" between them in her Vanity Fair talk.

Elizabeth grew to trust her dresser's fashion choices more, eventually giving Ms Kelly total creative freedom with assembling royal outfits.

Ms Kelly brought modern elements to the Queen’s closet, notably decorating a pair of 3D glasses with Swarovski jewels in the shape of Q during a 2010 film event in Canada.
