Prince Andrew's Royal Lodge in jeopardy amid growing controversies

Prince Andrew is reportedly in discussions about leaving the Royal Lodge following his removal from Windsor Castle and a strict warning from King Charles

According to The Telegraph, the 65-year-old disgraced British royal, who is currently residing in Windsor Great Park with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, is considering leaving the 30-room mansion.

On Friday, October 24, reports surfaced that Andrew had begun discussions with King Charles’ advisers regarding his potential departure from the Royal Lodge, his longtime residence since 2003.

Insiders say Buckingham Palace officials have been encouraging the former Duke of York to move out voluntarily, as the current lease prevents them from forcing him to leave.

The leasehold agreement noted that Andrew has paid "one peppercorn (if demanded)" in rent per year since 2003.

With that said, the youngest son of late Queen Elizabeth II and his family are officially permitted to live in the property until 2078.

Several sources revealed that after leaving the Royal lodge, Prince Andrew will relocate to one of King Charles’ private estates, such as Sandringham Palace or Balmoral Castle.

However, the prince has insisted that he wants to stay in London or Windsor to remain near his two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

It is worth noting that this update comes after reports suggested that King Charles quietly removed Andrew’s banner from Windsor Castle.

For the unversed, Prince Andrew surrendered his royal titles in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Friday, October 17, amid controversy surrounding his association with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
