Kate Middleton will not accompany Prince William to Brazil for an important royal engagement.

The Prince of Wales, 43, is set to travel to Rio de Janeiro for the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony on November 5.

For the unversed, the Earthshot Prize "searches the world for environmental solutions that show the greatest potential."

During the event, Prince William and a esteemed prize council will announce five winners, each receiving a £1 million prize, or approximately $1.3 million.

Following the ceremony in Rio, the eldest son of Princess Diana and King Charles will head to the UN Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil, on November 6.

Meanwhile, Princess Kate will remain at home with the couple's three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

It is worth noting that the Princess of Wales, also 43, attended the first two Earthshot Prize ceremonies, joining her husband for the inaugural event in London in October 2021, and again in Boston in December 2022.

However, she did not accompany William at the 2023 event in Singapore, as Prince George had school exams that week and she stayed at home to support him, according to PEOPLE.

Kate also missed last year's ceremony in South Africa, spending much of the year out of the spotlight amid her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

This year, she will be focused not only on taking care of her children during their half-term break and continuing her recovery after announcing she was in remission, but also on guiding her family through a major transition.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s family are preparing to move from Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to the nearby Forest Lodge in the coming weeks, upgrading from the four-bedroom abode to the eight-bedroom home on the Windsor Great Park estate.
