Surprising reason Prince William's children won't inherit Forest Lodge exposed
Royal rule that bars Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis from inheriting their ‘forever home’ revealed
A Royal rule is barring Prince William's children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis from inheriting their ‘forever home’ Forest Lodge.
For the unversed, William and his wife, Princess Kate have just moved into an eight-bedroom lodge along with their three children.
According to Hello Magazine, the royal children do not inherit their parent’s new home in the English countryside west of London, because it is part of the Crown Estate.
In short, it's owned by the monarchy and simply leased out to the family.
Moreover, their lease agreement requires them to pay "market rate" for the home, a notable contrast to Prince Andrew's deal on Royal Lodge, where he enjoyed a symbolic 'peppercorn rent'.
The news comes a few days after the Wales family has taken up residence at Forest Lodge, which they reportedly hope to make their permanent base.
William and Kate Middleton have moved into what they hope will be their “home for life.”
Before that, Prince William and Princess Kate were living Adelaide Cottage, where they had been living since late summer 2022.
