The Duffer Brothers lend their voices to the latest Predator film thanks to director Dan Trachtenberg.

In a surprising crossover between two powerhouse franchises, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer secretly appear in the new sci-fi thriller Predator: Badlands, which is now in theaters.

Director Dan Trachtenberg, best known for Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers, revealed during an advanced screening that the Duffer Brothers make a vocal cameo as the computerized voice of Kwei’s ship, also known as the Yautja computer system.

“They were mixing Stranger Things at the same time we were mixing Badlands,” Trachtenberg explained at the event hosted by ScreenRant.

“I was supposed to direct an episode of Stranger Things but couldn’t because Badlands and Killers were happening at the same time. So I roped them into Badlands instead, it was so much fun. They were freaking out, and we had a lovely time.”

This marks a powerful collaboration between two: Netflix’s hit supernatural series and 20th Century Studios’ long-running alien saga.

Moreover, Predator: Badlands stars Elle Fanning as Thia, a sentient robot, and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek, a young Predator exiled from his clan.

Trachtenberg describes the film’s lead character as both “badass and emotionally resonant,” calling the project “a challenge that’s been thrilling to bring to life.”
