Liam Neeson breaks silence on anti-vax claims after docu controversy
‘Taken’ actor faces backlash after narrating the Pharmaceutical Corruption documentary
Liam Neeson recently set the record straight on anti-vax claims, saying he is not against vaccines.
The Taken actor served as a narrator for a controversial, new documentary, Plague of Corruption: 80 Years of Pharmaceutical Corruption Exposed, which is based on the 2021 book of the same name.
The actor noted that the documentary highlighted disproved notions about COVID vaccines and even included interview of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
It is pertinent to note that Liam reportedly faced backlash after the release of the documentary, promoting anti-vaccination theories and even people raised questions if he’s anti-vax.
Naked Gun actor’s representative lately issued a press statement, rejecting that he is against vaccines.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Liam’s spokesperson stated, “We all recognise that corruption can exist within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines.”
However, the rep mentioned that the Wildcat actor “never has been, and is not, anti-vaccination”.
Liam's extensive work with UNICEF emphasised the importance of his long-held support for global immunization and public-health initiatives.
“He did not shape the movie’s editorial content, and any questions about its claims or messaging should be directed to the producers,” added the actor’s spokesperson.
Meanwhile, the documentary also promoted baseless idea that autism is linked to vaccines and polio vaccines caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
