Ariana Grande helps ‘SNL’ bid goodbye to Bowen Yang during his final appearance
Ariana Grande was joined by Bowen Yang during her opening monologue as ‘SNL’ host
Ariana Grande took the stage as Saturday Night Live’s latest host on December 20, where she helped the show bid farewell to its longtime alum, Bowen Yang.
Grande and Yang, who have also co-starred in the two Wicked films, shared a round of singing alongside the show’s other cast members during the opening monologue.
The 32-year-old songstress and SNL cast performed a parody rendition of Mariah Carey’s famous holiday hit, All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Yang first joined his two-time co-star onstage after she sang, “All I want for Christmas is to know what to get for the people that I don’t know that well. All suggestions are welcome.”
Following Grande’s prompt, the comedian-actor appeared in the camera’s view to say, “I can help you, Ari.”
Later in the episode, the pair also performed a sketch where he played a Delta employee working his last shift.
While Grande played Rhonda, a friend of Yang’s character, who once again said goodbye to the departing SNL member’s fictional alter ego.
Bowen Yang will be leaving the show after the episode hosted by Ariana Grande, with Cher appearing as musical guest, while he previously thanked the former on his social media “for sending me off in the dreamiest way I could imagine.”
