Colin Jost takes shocking dig at wife Scarlett Johansson during latest 'SNL' episode
Colin Jost and Michael Che revive their fan favourite joke swap with wild twist
Colin Jost and Michael Che continued their long-standing, and often shocking, SNL tradition in the final episode of 2025.
The Weekend Update anchors revived their fan favourite joke swap segment where they give each other jokes that the other supposedly hasn’t seen, often including offensive material they wouldn’t normally say on air.
This time, however, there was a twist, with Che being the only one who wrote the jokes.
When introducing the segment, Jost expressed his surprise at the newly introduced change.
"That's interesting, because you specifically said that we were not doing it this year," he said. "I did not write any jokes for you."
Whether Jost’s reaction was genuine or part of the bit was unclear but it set the stage for him to read a series of inappropriate jokes on his own.
The first joke referenced slavery, the second focused on sexual abuse by the Catholic church while the third targeted Jost’s wife, Scarlett Johansson.
"New research shows that millions of women leave the workforce due to menopause, which means there's only a couple years left on my gravy train," Jost read as a picture of Johansson appeared onscreen. "My girl already be like, 'Colin, I'm warm. Colin, I'm sweating.' B****, you having a hot flash!"
He then added a punchline involving a younger celebrity.
"But don't worry about me, I got a backup," Jost said, showing a photo of the 23-year-old Wednesday star Jenna Ortega. "They don't call Wednesday hump day for nothing."
Collin Jost and Michael Che have kept the joke swap alive for years, typically bringing it back for Christmas episodes and season finales, delighting fans with their unpredictable and boundary-pushing humour.
