Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's lawyers have spoken out amid their ongoing lawsuit after a year of silence between the two legal teams.

It’s worth mentioning here that the two actors, who starred in It Ends with Us, have been embroiled in a highly public legal battle for a year now.

Now as per PEOPLE, new statements from both costars’ attorneys gave an updated look at where their long-running case stands and what comes next.

Lively’s attorneys, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, while sharing their view on how the past year has unfolded said that the 38-year-old actress filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department last year after what she claims were unsafe or uncomfortable experiences during the production of the movie adaption.

According to her legal team, the Gossip Girl alum wanted to take action not only for herself but also for others who faced similar issues.

Her team claimed that they've faced attempts to discredit her through lawsuits and online criticism.

In the end, her legal team noted that Lively is preparing for the upcoming trial, where she plans to address her concerns.

Meanwhile, Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, in a statement, acknowledged how exhausting the past year has been for his client.

He said that the Jane the Virgin alum is "deeply grateful for the support and kind words" he has received and believes that the "truth will ultimately prevail" as the case moves ahead.

For the unversed, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's trial is set for May 18, 2026.
