‘Stranger Things’ goes out with a bang by reaching new Netflix milestone
‘Stranger Things’ enters Netflix’s Top 10 following epic finale
Stranger Things has climbed up the rankings on Netflix following the conclusion after nearly a decade.
The sci-fi series has entered the all-time Top 10 list of its streaming platform, with 31.3 million views worldwide between December 29 and January 4, per The Hollywood Reporter.
While the views are calculated “as total viewing hours divided by running time,” the show’s final season earned 105.7 million views in total.
It now ranks at number nine on Netflix’s list of the most watched English-language series of all time.
The latest report further added that the streamer’s users “spent 325.6 million hours watching season five last week,” while those who attended cinema screenings are not included in the numbers.
With the final episode showing across multiple cinemas on December 31 and January 1 globally, the show additionally made $20 million to $25 million from the theatrical experience.
Notably, Stranger Things Season 5 is “just 300,000 views” behind Bridgerton Season Three, while 14 million views separate the show from the fourth spot, currently occupied by Wednesday Season Two with 119.3 million views.
