Hugh Jackman faces criticism after public appearance with Sutton Foster at Met Gala

Hugh Jackman has found himself at the center of online debate after attending the 2026 Met Gala with his current girlfriend, Sutton Foster, an appearance that quickly divided social media users.

The Wolverine star walked the red carpet alongside Foster, with the couple seen holding hands and appearing affectionate at one of fashion’s biggest nights in New York City.

While the pair appeared comfortable together, their joint appearance drew criticism online, with some users questioning the timing and public nature of the relationship in light of Jackman’s past marriage.

One social media user wrote, “Makes me cringe… wonder how Deborah feels after thirty years of supporting him???” Another commented simply, “Not a fan.”

Others suggested the couple should have avoided appearing publicly together at the event, with one remarking that they did not “need to be posing for pictures together at these events.”

Another user added, “Seems these days marriage is so disposable… sad really.”

Jackman was previously married to Deborra-Lee Furness for 27 years. The former couple shares two children, Oscar and Ava Jackman.

Foster was previously married to screenwriter Ted Griffin before finalizing their divorce earlier this year.
