Josh Groban opens up about surprise Disneyland engagement to Natalie McQueen
The singer proposed to Natalie McQueen at Snow White’s Wishing Well
Josh Groban is sharing new details about the romantic Disneyland proposal that led to his engagement with fiancée Natalie McQueen, revealing how a planned work visit turned into one of the most meaningful moments of his life.
The 45-year-old “You Raise Me Up” singer confirmed the couple’s engagement on Instagram on April 21, sharing photos of the pair kissing inside the theme park and celebrating with a cake marked “Congratulations.” McQueen, 36, also showed off her diamond engagement ring in the announcement.
In a new interview with eTalk, Groban explained that the proposal had been in the works but lacked a fixed location until a scheduled content shoot at Disneyland Resort gave him the perfect opportunity to bring family along and set the plan in motion.
“I brought my brother, my sister-in-law, my 2-year-old nephew. We had a great day,” Groban said, adding that he quietly asked Disney staff whether there was a private, meaningful location where he could propose.
The Disney team ultimately arranged a secluded setup at Snow White’s Wishing Well, near Sleeping Beauty Castle, decorated with pastel flowers and a romantic atmosphere designed specifically for the moment.
“The park is quiet, like everybody had gone home,” he recalled. “They just set it up so beautifully for us. So because we’d had such a big day, she wasn’t expecting it. It was just a nice surprise.”
Groban credited the Disney team for helping execute the surprise, calling the experience seamless and emotionally unforgettable. “Big ups to Disney, they really hooked me up,” he said.
The singer also reflected on how spontaneous elements shaped the proposal, noting that while planning helped, the final decision came down to trusting the moment and letting things fall into place.
When announcing the engagement, Groban wrote, “MY BEST FRIEND SAID YES!!! Sharing this life with you is my happiest place,” thanking Disney Weddings for helping create what he described as the couple’s “best day so far.”
He also revealed that the engagement ring was created with jewelry designer Tiffany Chao, adding a personal touch to the proposal.
Groban and McQueen, who have been together publicly since at least 2024, have frequently shared glimpses of their relationship, including red carpet appearances and joint outings in Los Angeles.
