Emma Slater hits back at critics who 'can't handle' her friendship with ex-husband
Emma Slater says her ability to stay friends with her ex-husband is a sign of healing
Emma Slater and Sasha Farber have demonstrated the art of the mature break-up, delighting fans with a playful TikTok video that highlights their enduring friendship.
The Dancing with the Stars professionals, who separated in 2022 after four years of marriage, used the viral clip to poke fun at their romantic history.
Addressing those surprised by their bond, Slater captioned the post: “If you can’t handle that exes can be mature and can be friends, I’m sending you love and positive vibes but I also know it’s not my problem to solve.”
The former couple, who first met in the ballroom years ago, have maintained a professional and personal connection despite their 2023 divorce.
Slater previously identified their differing views on starting a family as the primary reason for the split. “It’s really the kid thing,” she explained during a podcast appearance, noting that she did not want to delay Farber's path to fatherhood while she was still "figuring that out" for herself.
Their healthy dynamic extends to their new relationships as well. Following the season 34 finale of Dancing with the Stars in late 2025, Farber publicly congratulated Slater’s boyfriend, Alan Bersten.
Slater, 37, remains firm that her ability to remain close with Farber, 41, is a sign of personal healing.
Supporters have hailed the pair as "poster children" for mature separations, praising them for transitioning into a supportive friendship that continues to serve them both in the spotlight.
