Dakota Mortensen refutes Taylor Frankie Paul's 'disturbing' allegations following violent video release
Paul criticised her ex for his 'desperate, attention-seeking, and harmful campaign to damage her reputation
Dakota Mortensen refuted Taylor Frankie Paul’s claims that he was launching a "desperate" and "destructive effort to cause her harm" following the release of a 2023 domestic violence video.
"Anyone who has seen the footage will recognize this is an intensely distressing matter," he commented to Page Six in a statement on Thursday.
"Regrettably, I have become accustomed to these unfounded accusations about me and our relationship, which I completely refute. My efforts are centered on our son's well-being, and I hope Taylor focuses on that too."
On Thursday, a 2023 clip showing the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star hitting and chucking chairs at Mortensen, 33, was revealed.
The troubling video shows Paul's now 8-year-old daughter, Indy, weeping in the background while seated on the couch.
"Your daughter just got struck in the head with a metal chair," Mortensen told the content creator.
Paul subsequently retorted to her former boyfriend, "This is your doing. You threw me."
When law enforcement arrived, the TV star told them that Mortensen had pushed her to the floor before he started recording.
A representative for Paul told Page Six that the video was "selectively edited" and thus "conveniently leaves out context."
The representative also criticised Mortensen's "persistent, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive actions aimed at harming Taylor without considering their child's well-being."
During that time, Paul was arrested and charged with assault, criminal damage, and committing domestic violence in front of a minor. However, she later asserted that the charges were dismissed.
Moreover, Mortensen requested a restraining order against Paul on Tuesday after she reportedly attacked him twice in February.
Per TMZ, Mortensen accused Paul of choking him and claimed she had expressed intentions to harm herself. He also sought temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever.
Production for the forthcoming “SLOMW” season was halted due to the domestic violence investigation, according to People.
ABC additionally cancelled the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” featuring Paul soon after the video emerged.
